Project Highlights
The Challenge
PDQ’s JDE World A7.3 environment was creating operational inefficiencies due to outdated processes and limited documentation. The new CFO and CIO—both unfamiliar with IBM i—needed clarity on the system’s viability and potential.
The Solution
Briteskies performed both a Business Process Review (BPR) and a Technical Review (TR), engaging PDQ’s SMEs across functional and technical areas in a mix of on-site and virtual sessions.
BPR Focus Areas:
- Order to Cash
- Procure to Pay
- Plan to Make
- Accounting and Finance
TR Focus Areas:
- IBM i configuration, job scheduling, and security
- Development lifecycle and source control
- Third-party apps, custom code, integrations
The Result
PDQ gained clarity and control over its JDE World environment, along with a phased roadmap of improvements. The deliverables from BPR and TR enabled them to:
- Launch projects to correct phantom item setup and eliminate duplicate allocations
- Improve BOM accuracy and routing alignment
- Automate cycle counting via ABC ranking
- Reduce GL entry manual workload using the F0911Z1 process
Instead of rushing into a JDE migration, PDQ can now drive meaningful improvements from its existing platform—aligned to how the business actually operates.
