Briteskies Helps Barnes Implement JD Edwards Financials

Briteskies is pleased to announce that Barnes Distribution has launched their implementation of JD Edwards Financials.  This project replaced Barnes’ legacy, Cobol-based financials system with the JD Edwards financial modules.  The new software utilizes a more modern technology platform, and more importantly, gives the users a more efficient system that includes a GUI interface.

JD Edwards provides Barnes with a more robust financials package, allowing users to access detailed information using JD Edwards’ more advanced reporting capabilities.  Efficiency and productivity are also improved because the package uses a browser interface to access the data.

The project required a significant commitment from the Barnes IT and Accounting teams.  Briteskies provided resources to help Barnes setup the hardware and environments, design and implement the functional configuration of the software, and provide technical and functional training on the new software.  Briteskies also provided resources to manage project administration; tracking project plans, due dates and issues.  The project lasted approximately four months and provides a foundation for Barnes to further utilize additional modules of the JD Edwards software.
