IBM WebSphere Commerce and Oracle E-Business Suite Integration Summary
InHouz.com (now Zabitat) is an eCommerce and installation company dedicated to helping DIYers and homeowners transform their homes in ways that they might not have imagined. When developing their eCommerce site, they turned to our team to complete their IBM WebSphere Commerce and Oracle E-Business Suite Integration.
As a new company, InHouz had no online presence and no eCommerce expertise going into the project. What they did have was a vast amount of industry expertise, a clearly defined market opportunity, and a go-to-market plan. The plan was bolstered by very positive results from early product testing on various online marketplaces.
This project had three major themes. First, the Briteskies team focused on the B2C shopping experience to ensure the site would entice shoppers, that shoppers would feel confident, and that they would buy products.
The second focus was the integration of the various systems, including InHouz’s Oracle E-Business Suite. Early on, integration was identified as a key component and, frankly, it could make or break the project. Other integration points included InHouz’s Installation Services, which allows customers to set up a service appointment, and the Door Stylizer, where shoppers can upload an image of their door and select new decorative glass options.
Third, the project was separated into phases, both to help control scope as well as to break the project into manageable segments of work.
By integrating WebSphere Commerce with their existing Oracle E-Business Suite system, InHouz has seen impressive results. The early sales of the new site were more than expected, and the revenue seen since the site launch has more than paid for the project itself.
