Senior iSeries (AS/400) Application Developer / Programmer / Architect

Job Description:

Preferred Technical Skills:

The ideal candidate will have strong development experience utilizing RPG, ILE, and/or Cobol and should be well versed in the fundamentals of the structured programming on the iSeries platform. Hands on experience developing enterprise applications and experience using IBM products such as RPGIV, ILE, PDM, SQL, DDS and SDA. Knowledge of integrating AS/400 applications to other back-end systems using MQ messaging and web services is preferable.

A good working knowledge of SQL is imperative. Should have experience utilizing best practices and have worked with industry standard design patterns. In addition, knowledge of multiple software application packages like JD Edwards, Mapics, JDA, JBA, Infinium, CMS, or VAI are important. Knowledge of , HTML, CSS, .Net, and Java script are also valuable skills. Understanding the importance of documentation and knowledge of unit and integration testing at the coding level is also important.

The ideal candidate should be able to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences, including but not limited to team members, management, supervisors, and clients regarding design and issues.
